The global economy is at a turning point in 2022, with increasing risks and challenges. The Omicron-led resurgence in COVID-19 cases and Russia-Ukraine geopolitical conflicts stirred up soaring energy prices as well as supply chain disruption. Many countries are facing the risk of stagflation. Natural disasters occur more frequently, indicating climate risks cannot be ignored anymore. Populism is on the rise, some big economies in the world are at the edge of fragmentation and decoupling...Heavy uncertainties have been condensed into a dark cloud on top of everyone's mind.

Opening up and global trade is acting as a cornerstone for the Chinese economy and is also a critical force for world peace and development. The Belt and Road initiative has gradually promoted regions such as Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, becoming a new channel for international cooperation. During the journey of connecting with overseas markets, on the one hand China's financial institutions or corporates may need to hold their own ground, but on the other hand it's equally critical by using 'credit' as the global common language to communicate with counterparties, adopting international standards and learn from each other.
